Bands

Modern bands usually consist of a drummer, a bassist, a guitarist and a singer, although there are many other variations of this as well. Older swing bands used to consist mainly of brass and woodwind instruments where as dance groups may not have any real instruments in them at all (Kraftwork for instance). The thing that all bands have in common though is that they use sounds and silence to weave a sonic tapestry – music.

There are many different genres out there and bands that fit within more than one, but the best thing about bands (as compared to DJs or producers) is the audience participation and vibe that you get at live gigs and concerts. Whether you’re into metal or pop the experience of a well rehearsed group can stay with you for a life time, and some of my best memories have been formed listening to the bands that I love with the people that I care about.

There are many good bands out there that you’ve probably never even heard of, and many more that need support from local fans so that they can have there chance in the spotlight. The internet is a good source to find new music and people are always willing to share there opinions on any bands are genres you can think of!
